Microsoft Surface tablet is an attempt by the software giant Microsoft, to get a foot hold into the tablet market, which also marked company’s inroads into building their own devices.

It was released in November 2012. The device sports 10.6 inch, TFT capacitive touchscreen, with 16M colors and has resolution of 1366*768 pixels. One of the notable features of the screen is its capacity to recognize 5 finger multitouch touches. It has Microsoft Windows RT OS and Nvidia Tegra 3 T30, Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU. The devise comes with 2 GB RAM and in two variations of internal memory vis. 32 and 64 GB and supports microSD up to 64 GB. Surface has 1.2 MP primary and secondary cameras. However, the device doesn’t support Sim, 2G, EDGE, and GPRS; the data communication has to be carried out through Wi-Fi, USB and Bluetooth, a disadvantage which can deter the consumers to go for Surface.
