Gionee Introduces World's Slimmest Smartphone At 18, 999


BENGALURU: The Chinese Mobile phone manufacturer, Gionee launches the slimmest smartphone in the world, ‘Elife S5.1’ measuring only 5.1 mm of thickness. The phone will be available from December and will be priced at 18, 999, reports NDTV gadgets.

Apparently, the Gionee S5.1 was launched in China some time back and the phone was recognized to be the slimmest phone in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records but the Oppo R5 broke the record with its 4.85mm of thickness.

The Gionee Elife S5.1 runs on the Android 4.3 jelly bean with Amigo 2.0 UI on it. It boasts of a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. On the hardware front, the phone comes with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor along with a 1GB of RAM. It has a 16GB of non-expandable storage memory and the phone is powered by a 2100 mAh battery.

The Smartphone is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper. Other connectivity features on the phone include Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi and GPS. The Elife S5.1 will be available in Black, White, Pink, and Mint Green. On the design and build quality, the phone features 5.1mm body which comprises of both glass and metal.
