Sony Xperia M2 Dual

Price: Rs. 20490 - Rs. 22490
The Xperia M2 Dual is the dual-SIM offering of the Xperia M2. The device is targeted at the mid-tier segment and comes with hardware that reflects this. The device features a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU along with an Adreno 305 GPU. There is also 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB internal memory and a micro-SD card slot that can accommodate 32 GB SD cards. The device comes with the usual sensors.
The Sony Xperia M2 Dual features a 4.8-inch TFT LCD screen with a resolution of 960 x 540. The lack of an HD screen is a bit of a letdown considering that devices like the Moto G feature a 720p screen. The Xperia M2 Dual does look a lot like the high-end Xperia Z1. While the design is similar, the device features plastic, which while comfortable to hold, does not convey a sense of style. The Xperia M2 Dual has dimensions similar to that of the Xperia M2 at 139.7 x 71.1 x 8.6 mm. The device's volume, power and camera shutter button is on the right, while the left side features the micro-SD card slot and the micro-USB charger port.
The Xperia M2 Dual comes with an 8 MP camera that features Sony's Exmor RS for mobile sensor. The inclusion of this sensor in a mid-tier device means that the device will be great at taking images and videos. The camera UI is also tweaked and now features additional functionality that was only limited to high-end devices. There is a new HDR mode in addition to other shooting modes that make taking images and videos a cinch. As far as multimedia is concerned, Sony offers one of the better interfaces for consuming multimedia content on the go. The device itself works with all major audio and video formats, so you should have no difficulty in playing back your content while on the go.
The Xperia M2 Dual comes with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on Sony's custom skin. Sony's customizations are generally known for not including a lot of bloatware, and the situation is no different with the Xperia M2 Dual. The device does come with a few custom utilities in addition to stock Android services like the Play Store, Gmail, Chrome and others. Sony has also made available its Music Unlimited service with the device.
The Xperia M2 Dual does not feature LTE, but otherwise it is well-catered to in the connectivity segment. It has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, DLNA and micro-USb 2.0 connectivity. The 2300 mAh battery ensures that the device stays switched on for a day and a half of normal usage. Music playback is claimed at 58 hours, with 13 hours of talk time on 2G and 12 hours of talk time while on 3G.
