8. Adena T.Friedman

Adena T. Friedman, CFO at Carlyle group and the first woman on the executive board, is more female friendly. Friedman is an M.B.A graduates from Owen Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, USA and a B.A. in Political Science from Williams College in Massachusetts, USA. She is a very hard working woman, as she had done part time at NASDAQ while her two sons were young but point to be noted that she balanced her career and family well when compared to men. “It’s a hard thing to balance, needing to be at home, and needing to be at work, and making sure you’re performing in both arenas,” Friedman said. “To be honest, the guilt is extreme.”

9. Carmen Reinhart

Carmen Reinhart is theProfessor of the International Financial System at Harvard Kennedy School. Born in Havana Cuba, she has come a long way from her beginnings. One of her son is married to the world’s most famous female economist. Specializing in financial crises, recent events have played to her strengths. One of her best-selling award winning book (with Kenneth Roggoff) “This time is Different–Eight Centuries of Financial Folly” has become a must read since its publication and also it is  translated into 20 languages. She owns a Bloomberg page too.

Eleanor Roosevelt’s famous quote “A women is like a tea bag; you never know how strong it is until it’s in hot water” suits Cr Reinhart well. Even when Global approbation blamed her a lot for the spreadsheet mistake, she has come out after a huge struggle. Her CV is the blue chip for University Professorships, the IMF, World Bank, and even a stint an investment bank Bear Stearns as Chief Economist.
