Stock, Money Market To Remain Closed Today For Ambedkar Jayanti
MUMBAI: The stock market will remain closed on Tuesday (April 14, 2015) on account of 'Ambedkar Jayanti'.
All major markets including Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), National Stock Exchange (NSE), forex, money and commodity markets - bullion and oils & oilseeds - will remain closed, while other commodity markets will operate as usual.
The benchmark BSE index Sensex on Monday regained the 29,000-mark to settle at an over one-month high of 29,044.44 by rising 165.06 points (or 0.57 per cent).
The broader 50-share NSE index Nifty rose for the seventh straight session and ended above the 8,800-level by rising 53.65 points (or 0.61 per cent).
The key indices had risen mainly on account of strong IIP data - Industrial production grew at a nine-month high of 5 per cent in February on improved mining and manufacturing activity.
Meanwhile, the rupee closed at a one-week low of 62.51 against the Greenback, falling by 20 paise amid sustained demand for the US dollar from importers.
