People consider repairs are something that preserves the value of the house but does not enhance its value. But this is not the case always. Certain improvements like replacing the roof or etc which will help decrease your future tax bill when you sell your home. Moving to the non tax related note, don't think it is valid to spend money on something because it is a necessary "repair" but in reality it is an improvement. That isn't good for your finances.
