Is Your Financial Adviser Ideal For You?
3. Do Not Accept Generalizations
Again, do not agree to his generalized saying like ‘your money is safe with us’, ‘we will give you post-dated cheques’, ‘we will do all the transactions to save your time’, ‘sign these forms in advance so we can put your transactions through at the right time’. Take your own time to ensure that you are comfortable with the entities which will hold your money.
Do not let your adviser or broker, to operate your bank and investment accounts, however simple and tempting it may sound. Does your planner provide space for your viewpoint or need? Does he get back to you with solutions to your specific queries?
An ideal planner knows that your needs come first and will do his best to earn your goodwill. If he is not taking any personal interest in the client then he is only performing a task for an incentive.
