Yumlane Mints $4 Million Series A from RB Investments & Orios


yumlaneYumlane, a food startup by QwikPik Technology, grabs $4 million in its Series A funding led by Singapore based RB Investments, Orios and other high profile individuals. Being a forerunner in the ‘Ready to Eat’ category, Yumlane targets India’s 156 million urban middle and mass consumers with this funding.

With its own style of quick to eat, zero preservative pizzas, Yumlane has found an easy entrance into the urban Indian society who has accepted pizza and shawarma as their integral part of the dining and home delivery concepts. Good food at an affordable rate is something Yumlane cares for. Hence Yumlane’s products are made with 100 percent natural & real ingredients and they’ve a longer shelf life because of their innovation in packaging, and allow consumers to know the nutritional value and ingredients.  Yumlane also makes sure that the food comes within a reasonable price range of 60 to 80, which can be sourced from the nearby supermarkets like BigBazaar, DMART, HyperCity, StarBazaar, Haiko, Reliance Smart, Natures Basket, more and also online on Big Basket.

Founded in March 2016, with a vision to make great food accessible to everyone, Yumlane is headquartered at Mumbai and currently reaches out to customers through its 100+ stores in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Pune. With an annualised run rate of 2 million units, Yumlane plans to grow this to 10 million units by the end of the year. Commenting on the funding, Hitesh Ahuja, Founder, Yumlane, says, “The company is focused on building a snacking brand in the FMCG sector and more specifically in the fresh chilled foods with products such as pizzas and momos. With the support and backing from investors in the current round from RB Investments, Orios Ventures and Binny Bansal, we are poised to scale the business to the next stage with a three pronged approach, i.e. product innovation, increase distribution footprint and marketing investments.”

Founded in 2014, RB Investments is a Singapore based venture capital firm, that invests in people with visionary ideas and they assist portfolio companies in developing and executing strategic growth and enhancing market presence. Another investor, Orios Ventures is a Mumbai headquartered early stage venture fund which invests in software and technology enabled startups.
