Bangalore: Forbes has come up with a list of richest people in the world. Out of 1153 individuals, Uday Kotak, an Indian banker ranks at 270th position in the list. Following are the big names around the world that accumulated their riches through banking. Have a look at these personalities.

Uday Kotak

Uday Kotak is India's first billionare banker. The Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Kotak Mahindra Bank owns a 50 percent stake in the bank; Forbes estimated his wealth to be $4.1 billion in 2011. He is ranked 270 in the list. He ended a 14 year partnership with Goldman Sachs by acquiring its 25 percent stake in two subsidiaries for $72 million in 2006.

53 year old Uday is an alumnus of the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai and Sydenham College, Mumbai. He borrowed around Rs.30 lakh from family and friends to invest in his company in 1986. Uday's company has a market cap of Rs.6, 700 crores and is the third largest private sector bank in Ind
