2. Wesley Snipes
Wesley Snipes is an American film producer, and an actor who was featured in action adventurous and dramatic feature films. He was charged by IRS for false tax refund claim of over $4 million for the year 1996 and 1997.
He was alleged for using a tax protester theory called the "861 argument" to obtain fraudulent tax refunds and presenting 3 rubbish and fabricated "bills of exchange" for $14 million to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
It’s a law that U.S. citizens must file a tax return each year, if the income is above the requisite level, in which Snipes was much above that level. Snipes’ wrong conviction showed failing to file a tax return made him pay it with penalties which also included, putting him behind the bars.
Snipes was put behind the bars from 2010 for giving wrong tax returns file to the U.S. federal income tax in McKean County, Pennsylvania was released on April 2nd 2013.
