Key Indian Equity Indices Trade In Red During Afternoon Session


MUMBAI: Key Indian equity market indices were trading in the red during the afternoon session on Friday.

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the BSE was trading 66.50 points or 0.25 percent lower during the afternoon session.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 20.10 points or 0.25 percent lower at 8,183.50 points.

The BSE Sensex, which opened at 26,742.26 points, was trading at 26,696.96 points (at 01.02 p.m.) in the afternoon session -- 66.50 points or 0.25 percent lower from the previous day's close at 26,763.46 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 26,972.06 points and a low of 26,682.56 points in the trade so far.

Good buying was observed in power sector, while selling pressure was seen in auto and consumer durables sectors.
