Actor Akshay Kumar, another big name in Bollywood, paid 7.5 crore advance tax in comparison to 5 crore, he had paid last year during the same period. Akshay, with his two consecutive super hits – ‘Housefull 2’ and ‘Rowdy Rathore’, is the second in the list. He is a consistent participant in this catalog and also was also the highest tax payer for last 5 years.

He also starred for an Income-Tax Department advertisement to promote compliance. “Along with fulfilling my tax duties, I also feel the time has come for me to give back to society and the country at large. This is why I am also using my brand status to do an ad for service tax. If I can get my message across to even half the people across, I feel it would be worth it,” says Akshay, as quoted by Bollywood Mantra.com. It is a great sense of responsibility to pay taxes on time, he adds.
