"If you select this option, an order once placed will be valid for a month. During this period, if the stock hits your target price, the order will be executed," says Vishal Gulecha, Head of Equity Products at ICICI Securities. "Seasoned long-term investors use this tool to time the market, while some investors use this tool to meet their long-term goals or deploy cash" adds Gulecha, as quoted by ET.

Equity SIP

There are many investors who believe in building up a few shares for a long term, as this is also a very safe way of investment in equities. You can choose one or many stocks in which you wish to do an SIP.

"Investors do a SIP using a combination of largecap and mid-cap stocks," says Jyotheesh Kumar, Senior Vice President, HDFC Securities. Though, many experts don't favor equity SIP, as it is a investment in only one stock and thus have higher risk as well. Whereas investing is an equity mutual fund contains lower risk, where the portfolio of stocks is prepared by Fund Manager.
