Bangalore: Brokerage firms are introducing many different types of products to develop investor’s taste which is until very much resolves around simple cash trading system. As the market is improving after a series of announcements made by government, the demand for equity products may also improve in coming days, states Prashant Mahesh from ET Bureau.

"Investors need to understand these products and use them only if these suit their needs. For example, equity SIP could suit long-term investors, while margin trading would be used more by short-term equity investors with a higher appetite for risk," says Satish Menon, Executive Director, Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services, as told to ET.

Good Till Cancelled (GTC)

You can order for only one trading session in a stock exchange. Hence you will have to place orders in a daily basis if you are a long term investor and if you want to buy a stock worth 750 against its current price of 840.

If you are late or unable to place the order, the stock may price may reach 750 on that day itself. In such situations, GTC is the perfect choice for you.
