5 Most Influential Indians in Global Finance

4. Vikram Pandit

Vikram Pandit is the Chief Executive Officer of Citigroup since 2007. He is born Indian but presently is an American Business Executive. CNBC ranked him as the 20th Worst American CEO of all time. CNBC stated that ‘Pandit didn’t create the mess Citigroup is in, but he is the financial services equivalent of the Titanic’s Edward Smith – a commander ill-equipped to save his ship.’ Despite this poor ranking, he managed the impossible for the company. After five consecutive quarterly profits Citigroup announced a $23.2 million in 2011, he was able to be one of the highest paid CEOs.
