Make sure you advisor has all his plans and ideas on paper. He should have all clear objective and roadmap. You should ask for a written plan or statement of advice from your financial planner before agreeing to any investments. It should include the reasons why they are recommending the investments. If you advisor denies to give any such written statement, it's time to fire him.
