12 Things You Keep at Home, Not in the Bank

9) Copies of Legal Documents

It is always a good deal to have copies made of all important papers, especially legal ones. Make sure that the originals and copies are kept separately, yet safely. Always make more than one copy. It might seem like a lot of paper but they will reap the rewards someday when you will need them. Legal documents can include – wills, power of attorney and the like. You can also keep the same of your family members in the safe. As financial crises happen as and when they please, preparing beforehand is a good idea.

10) Copies of Wills when You are the Executor

Keeping copies of the wills of someone else is even more important than your own at times. If you have been chosen as the executor of someone else’s will, then this situation demands even more caution. If you have been given the responsibility of executing the will of somebody, then become proactive with its safe-keeping. Keep them properly in the safe at home and, if possible, keep a copy at the bank as well. Do not be careless with the property of someone else as you been trusted with it.
