5. Trim Your Wallet

Are you going to need your local travelling pass when you are 6,000 miles from your place? Probably not! Before you leave home, sit back and take a look at your wallet to check what unnecessary things you have in it. Sort out the things which you will need while travelling and keep the rest. Keep things like a universal credit card and a backup, an identification card, an insurance card, etc. Not only will it help you travel lighter, but if your wallet does get lost or stolen, you’ll have less to replace.

6. Use a Dummy Wallet

It is always advisable to keep two wallets, one in which you keep all your cards and cash and the one in which you carry small amount of money to make payments while travelling. In high-traffic settings such as metro stations and close quarters like bus lines, it’s nice to be able to forgo cash or credit-card transactions totally and rely instead on a multi-use ticket or other cash alternative.
