8. Soda Fountain Tax

Soda fountain tax is hard to find these days but still exists in Chicago. The windy city, Chicago implies taxes can soda at 3 percent and fountain soda at 9 percent that is three times of that of a can soda. If you are a soda lover then you would have to think twice before moving into Chicago.

9. Baby Names Tax

The naming law in Sweden requires approval of the names given to Swedish children. The Swedish Tax Agency administers the registration of names in Sweden. The law has been reformed since originally enacted; in 1983 it was made possible for men to adopt their wife's or partner's name, as well as for women to adopt their husband's name. The law states, “First names shall not be approved if they can cause offense or can be supposed to cause discomfort for the one using it, or names which for some obvious reason are not suitable as a first name”.

10. Salt Tax

How can the bizarre list of taxes complete without mentioning the famous salt tax for which Ghandhi ji protested in 1930. It is hard to understand why salt was a subjected to tax. This is the so-called imposing China from the beginning of the destruction of the French Revolution until our ‘bapu’ fought for it.
