4. Gary Gensler
Gary S. Gensler is the Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission under President, Barack Obama. He grew up in a working class home in Baltimore, Maryland.
Gary’s father was a cigarette and pinball machine vendor for local bars. He graduated from a public school and attended Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and pursued BS and MBA. Later he joined Goldman Sachs, where he stayed for 18 years and became a multi-millionaire. He became the head of the company’s fixed income and currency trading operations in the mid-1990s and eventually became the company’s co-head for finance. After leaving the bank, he worked for the Treasury Department.
