Shiv Nadar is the founder and chairman of HCL and the Shiv Nadar Foundation. HCL was established in the mid-1970s as an IT hardware company and over the three decades Nadar transformed it into an IT Enterprise that operates in 31 countries. During the mid-1990s, Nadar focused his efforts in upgrading the educational system of India through the Shiv Nadar Foundation. In 2012, Nadar made a donation of $411 million or 10 percent, of his $4.11 billion net worth. Some of his donations have been directed to the Shiv Nadar foundation for supporting education causes.

Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao is the Founder Chairman of a global infrastructure company GMR Group, established in 1978. Rao has openhandedly donated 9.2 percent- about $ 120 million - of his $1.3 billion net worth.
