Siddhartha Engineering College is recognized by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and the Institution of Engineers (India) and accredited thrice by NBA (National Board of Accreditation, AICTE, New Delhi).The college was granted Autonomous status by UGC in the year 2006. The college is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.

Siddhartha Academy of General & Technical Education, better known as Siddhartha Academy, came into being in the year 1975 with a Corpus Fund of Rs.25 lakhs (Rs.2.5 million) through the efforts of 250 Life members drawn from different walks of life having a philanthropic bent of mind. This was registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act in the same year. The main objective of the Academy is to establish and run educational institutions offering education at all levels in the fields of general, technical & professional education. The Academy started its strategic mission of spreading education in Vijayawada in Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh.
The establishment of Siddhartha Educational Institutions followed by the establishment of other educational institutions in the last 28 years transformed this city into one of the major educational centres.

Admission at Siddhartha Engineering College

All Admissions are provisional and subject to rules and regulations prescribed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh from time to time. The admission of any candidate even if made, will be cancelled if such admission is found to be made contrary to the above referred rules and regulations at any time. In such cases, the candidate shall not have any claim whatsoever in any manner.

All candidates, provisionally selected for admission will be required to pay the prescribed tuition fee and other specified fees. Failure of the same will result in the cancellation of provisional admission. No portion of any fees, once paid, will be refunded under any circumstances. If any student wishes to discontinue the course at any time for any reason he/she shall not be permitted to do so unless he/she pays 50% or 100% (depending on Payment or free seat) of the balance amount of fees he/she would have paid had he/she continued till the completion of the course. His/her original certificates including T.C. etc ., will be issued only if the students pay as stated above.
