About Universal Group of Institutions :
Universal Group of Institutions is self financed, institute headed by a body of academicians and set up by Universal Educational Society to provide world class quality education to students. It has been conceptualized by Mr. Gurpreet Singh the Chairman, a great visionary. The institute is duly approved by AICTE, New Delhi, and Punjab Govt. And is affiliated to Punjab .

Training :
The college has a separate Training Industrial Training of students. The Training cell establishes contacts with industrial houses to arrange training of the students.
It has been formed to achieve the main objectives as under:-

The placement office :
The Placement office handles all aspects of campus placements at . The office is well- equipped with excellent infrastructure to support every stage of placement process. The arrangements for pre-placement talks, written tests, interviews etc. are all handled by the placement committee of college students. The following facilities are made available:
1. An auditorium to conduct the pre-placement talks.
2. Well-furnished and air-conditioned room for interviews.
3. Fully computerized office.
4. Well-trained and organized placement committee (student representatives).
The placement policy and other related activities are handled by the placement officer in consultation with the placement committee.

Eligibility criteria
a) All those candidates who have passed the +2 examination with Physics or Mathematics as the compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects : Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science or the candidates who have passed Diploma in Engineering trade from Punjab State Board of Technical Education, Chandigarh or Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology, Longowal or such examination from any other recognized State board of technical education.
b) He/She possesses a good moral character.
c) He/She fulfils the conditions mentioned in Punjab Govt. notification incorporated in PTU.
d) He/She fulfils the requirements laid down by PTU. e) He/She is a citizen of India.

- Invitations are sent to the companies/ organizations with relevant information and the Placement Performa.
- Company fills the Placement Performa and sends it to placement office, UGI,Lalru along with the possible dates for the visit.
- The company receives confirmation from the Placement Office.
- Company/organization conducts the Pre-Placement talk (PPT).
- Willing students appear for the selection procedure which involves a written test/group discussion.
- Short listed candidates appear for the personal interviews.
- The Company/organization is required to furnish the final list of the selected students as soon as possible.
