About Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering Technology:
Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering Technology (SVCET) Chittoor, is anISO 9001 – 2000 certified institution established in the year 1998. It is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur and recognized by AICTE, New Delhi, with a Vision “to carve the youth as dynamic, competent, valued and knowledgeable Professionals who shall lead the Nation to a better future”. The Institute offers 6 UG programmes in Engineering and Technology & 6 PG programmes.
Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering Technology has spacious well-designed, adequately furnished and ventilated classrooms. All the laboratories of engineering and sciences are well equipped with the required equipments. The laboratories and workshops are fully equipped with the state-of-art of facilities; particularly the computer centre, CAD/CAM center, Automated Library; Digital Library, internet and language labs are value added assets to the college.
Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering Technology library has total books volumes of 29130 and 5,914 titles, 104 national journals, and 74 international journals along with 34 magazines and 603 IEEE Online Journals. The students are encouraged to make full use of the library and other facilities. The Internet center opened during the year 2005-06 acts as the reservoir of knowledge for people seeking information in the present technological world.
Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering Technology college has accomplished remarkable growth in the past twelve years. The students’ admission has been growing steadily year-by-year as in the case, in the first cradle year, i.e. 1998 the sanctioned intake was 180, which has now increased to 1008. As the intake of students multiplies, so does the infrastructure of the college, which is constantly under expansion to keep pace with the growing need and trends of technology.On the whole, the college provides a safe, secure and ingenious ambience to the students for integrated learning practices
Training & Placement :
The Training & Placement (TAP) department facilitates the Campus recruitment program. The office invites leading companies for campus visits. The TAP Office facilitated the recruitment of 241 students during 2007-08, 173 students during 2008-09 and 53 students so far during 2009-10 as a part of campus recruitment drive. A team of Faculty and resource persons from TAP guide the students in language skills, kinesics, intra/ inter personal, thinking and management skills, resume preparation, interview skills, etc. It also provides counseling services. The auditorium, seminar halls and Interivew cubicles are air-conditioned and fixed with audio-visual equipment to provide the ideal environment for campus selection. TAP assists the students in summer and winter Industrial training. TAP arranges guest lectures of eminent personalities from Industry for career counseling. It also coordinates technical seminars and industrial visits for students in various departments.
Master of Computer Applications :
Department of Master of Computer Applications (MCA) was established in the year 2004-05 with an intake of 60 students, with the approval of AICTE and affiliated to the JNTU, Anantapur. Within a short span of 4 years the department has grown to a level in terms of infrastructural and academic standards on par with other premier institutions in the country. The department has acquired latest hardware and software.
Master of Computer Applications is fortunate enough to have both experienced and young committed faculty. Majority of the faculty members are actively involved in research and development activities. The faculty has attended many training programs conducted by various organizations. The college management encourages the faculty members to attend workshops, conferences, seminars to update their knowledge.
MCAs are specially groomed for applications. In the fast changing commercial environment, the MCAs have immense opportunities to exhibit their talents in business applications including Marketing, Production, Distribution logistics, Accounts, Finance, Human Resources Development, etc,.
These with involvements in an array of Enterprise Resources Planing packages like SAP, Oracle Finance and People Soft offer massive job opportunities and growth potential.
MCAs being the architects of business applications can offer solid support to the Transaction Processing System and Design Effective Management Information to change the business operations dynamically. Indeed, MCAs are considered the Change Agents in business environment.
