About Us

Sri Sukhmani Institute of Engineering & Technology, Dera Bassi is affiliated to Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India, New Delhi. The institute provides Bachelor of Technology, Master of Computer Applications, Master of Business Administration and Master of Technology course. Institute aim to impart professional education in professional environments in order to develop a global citizen. To make students understand the significance of details, and to motivate them to perform like perfectionists who focus as much on details as they do on the larger picture of any project. To show students how to become true entrepreneurs and not just true professionals, through encouragement to creative thinking and independent problem-solving abilities.

Placements:

Training & Placement cell of the Institute plays a vital role in shaping careers of students from their induction, orientation, summer and winter internships in prominent and reputed industries and corporate houses (both in India and Abroad). For abroad internship, T&P cell helps even up to getting the Visa. During the 6 Months internship, there is continuous monitoring of the students. They have also to take up a live and real time project compulsorily, which enhances their professional and practical approach. Our students have designed software for the automation of the library of Gurdwara Sahib Sector 34 Chandigarh and of Gurdwara Manji Sahib Ambala City. Both the Media and the Management of these Gurudwaras accorded appreciations to the students and the institute for accomplishing such important yet difficult projects.

T&P cell motivates the students to do their best during the Internship Training and this helps the conscientious students to get fully involved in the Training for which many of them get appreciation letters, scholarships and job.

Facilities:

Infrastructure Overview:Sri Sukhmani Institute of Engineering & Technology has a spacious campus with modern multistory structures having all modern equipment and safety precautions. The classrooms are theater type, well lit, airy and having the latest furniture. Other facilities including Seminar Hall, Video conferencing Room, Canteen, Nescafe, Gymnasium, Guest House, Medical Dispensary, Bank, Photostat shop, Stationary Shop and STD Facility shop are well within reach in the Campus.

Hostel Details: The Institute has separate hostels for boys and girls. The mess of each hostel is equipped with modern facilities. Each hostel has a residential warden to ensure implementation of discipline and creating atmospheres of that is conductive to learning. Cable TV Connection in Common Room, Facility of Indoor Games, Medical Aid, Telephone Facility, Gymnasium etc are provided.

Laboratory Details:Sri Sukhmani has well-equipped laboratories where consultancy and testing facilities also exist. The Chemistry Lab can even cater to the needs of the chemical industry. The Applied Mathematics section offers consultancy for problems relating to elasticity, thermo elasticity, functional analysis numerical analysis and operation research. The Electrical Engineering Department is offering consultancy for designing electrical transmission and distribution systems, power flow studies, grounding designs and testing of illuminating equipment. The computer science department is capable of offering consultancy for software development and internet services.

Library Details:At present Sri Sukhmani Library as more than 10000 books/ volumes of various texts and reference books prescribed by P.T.U. in various disciplines of engineering and Applied Science. Library information is also accessible via a computerized catalog. SSIET currently subscribes to more than 70 National and international journals and magazines. A separate block for Central Library. The existing library can accommodate more than 100 plus students and is equipped with modern furniture and facility of centrally air-conditioned hall. Library also has the institutional membership of the British library Books from the British Library can be produced on demand of users under the inter library loan services/provisions. SSIET Library has an electronics media section that provides access to wide range of education software programmes and training material on CDs and DVDs.

Extra Curricular Details:N.S.S. Unit of the college is very active in fields like blood donation, awareness programmes, environmental issues etc. Every year the college N.S.S. Unit organizes Blood Donation Camps in collaboration with PGI. These camps draw an overwhelming response from students and college. They voluntarily donate blood in large number.

Placement Records:

The main motive of the placement department at SSIET is to provide the right platform to the students passing out of the college, so that they are able to make a solid foundation for a prosperous career lying ahead. We are the facilitator for the industry, and to the students. It is our constant endeavor to see that the students are groomed in such a manner that they are able to meet the challenging requirements of the industry.
