TECHNEX '14 - Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication

Celebrating a legacy of 75 years since the inaugural edition, Technex is all set to raise the bar among the technical fests in India. With an unprecedented array of additions to the schedule this time around and an equally welcome rise in registrations for the events, Technex ’14 is sure to be a delight to the technoholics! The three day festival will kick off on Friday March 7, 2014with the first ever air show in a college campus in north India with participation of RC aircraft, helicopters and IC engine planes. This air show is dedicated to one of the proudest alumni of BHU, Late Prof. Veerbhadra Mishra, fondly referred to as Ganga Putra to celebrate his vision and works towards the protection and upkeep of the Holy Ganges.

The students, coming from colleges from across the country have indeed no dearth of arenas and activities to compete and prove themselves. The technical minds have a range of over 25 different events to take up the challenge varying from robotic challenges, coding competitions and software simulation to IC engine car racing, aeromodelling, model prototyping and recycling.  Quizzing competitions are never left behind with a plethora of different quizzes in diverse fields to leave no trivia-freak unhappy.

Creativity has its own league to be engaged in, with enticingly charted competition structures that is sure to test the adrenalin junkies for their skills in getting their moves right and being creative at the same time. Technex will also play host to a wide variety of management events, case study competitions, marketing strategy programmes and workshops among others to quench the thirst of the future corporate junkies among the budding engineers.

Besides these adrenalin pumping, skill requisite and nail biting competitions, Technex is the best time for keen listeners to engage in thought provoking discussions and conferences. Technex will host a range of eminent personalitites over the three days in guest lectures. The speakers include Dr. Peter Jenni  (Physicist, CERN, Switzerland), Dr. R D Mehta(Branch Chief, NASA Ames Research Center), Dr. SubirGokarn (Former Deputy Governor – Reserve Bank of India), Dr. H C Verma (Professor at IIT Kanpur and Author, The Concepts of Physics) Padmashri Dr. A K Gupta  (Founder of Honey Bee Network & Professor IIM Ahmedabad) and Mr. Sudhir T Devare (Former Director General of the Indian Council of World Affairs)

Initiating students into social responsibility, Technex ’14 will introduce a unique range of events under the flagship of Pahal. With events addressing common social issues as well as environmental problems, ranging child welfare, education, social governance among others, these events are sure to inspire the youth to lead India to development from the grassroots. The opening day will also host an AIDS awareness campaign and related events and the following day will have themed events to celebrate International Women’s day.
