The Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta (IIM-C) has inked a deal with a leading Canadian business school to design and publish India-specific case studies, an official said Wednesday.

The institute will partner with Ivey Business School, Western University, Canada for five years to collaborate in the areas of research, development and publishing of cases as well as in fostering a culture of case writing and case pedagogy in Indian management institutes.

The move will foster case based teaching and in creating high quality case materials to enrich classroom discussions.

"The Case Research centre at IIM-C was set up with the idea of developing India-specific cases from the formal and informal sectors. The agreement will help our faculty to list their cases in Ivey, thereby enabling faculty and students from all over the world access to such cases from a leading emerging market," said Ashok Banerjee, dean of new initiatives and external relations, IIM-C.

Eric Morse, associate dean - Programs, Ivey Business School, said: "We believe our combined expertise and focus on quality will lead to exceptional results for both institutions and the stake-holders we collectively serve."
