Writing off of education and farm loans, statehood for Puducherry, setting up of the second rocket launch pad in Tamil Nadu are some of the promises made by the DMK party in its poll manifesto released Tuesday.

The promises also include reservation in private sector, focus on organic farming, and change in oil and gas pricing policy.

Releasing the manifesto here, DMK president M. Karunanidhi said it has covered all the sections of the society.

He said the manifesto covers women, children, transgenders, differently-abled, small traders, weavers, students, elderly, fishermen, minorities and others.

Karunanidhi said the manifesto also covers retrieval of Katchatheevu, an islet ceded by India to Sri Lanka 40 years ago.

The DMK also promised creation of 10 lakh jobs.

Reiterating the party's slogan, Karunanidhi said: "We will do what we tell. We will tell what we would do."

He said the manifesto was divided into 100 heads.

"We have also listed out the various schemes that the DMK has brought to Tamil Nadu when it was part of the government at the centre," Karunanidhi said.

He said the party strives for a secular government at the centre.
