And that to me didn't seem like a good place to be in. The corporate workspace tends to spoil you, in many ways, and if you're the sort who can live with a status quo, you can spend a lifetime in those jobs. I clearly could not be that person.I took a break when my son was born, and knew then, I wasn't going back to that life. I wanted to go do something else, something that I knew I'd enjoy. The move to retail did that for me and it was a big decision. I soldiered on, crossed a few lines, stuck my foot in the door and pushed the en-velope as far as I could, all along willing to take complete responsibility for my actions. I worked in an environment that allowed me to thrive, made me feel empowered, but as I grew, so did my dreams and aspirations for the business. I woke-up one morning, and knew it was time to do things for myself. So, I created my own environment, one where I could go ahead and do what I wanted to, take the risks, and bring my vision of a good business to fruition. And that's how my career as an entrepreneur started. It's been a time of constant learning and unlearning for me that will continue.Being an entrepreneur has never been an easy job and for women it requires also to have to balance multiple priorities. But, it is in our own hands to create that space where we're able to manage them well. Yes, we as women grow-up with a strange calculus, where it is often assumed we'll have to put in my opinion
