MAY 20214A few days ago I was browsing online for a new couch for my livingroom. The exercise required me to scroll through page after page on various websites. While some online stores were easy to traverse through, some were just too complex for my taste. As a consequence, I spent much less time on the websites that were tougher to navigate through or were not particularly aesthetically pleasing. On the contrary, the other platforms that were easy to navigate had my attention for a much longer time. I ultimately ended up ordering much more than what I had initially intended to. In retrospect, it was the websites' User Interface (UI) that played the crucial trick. It made me introspect at how critical a role UI/UX plays in a brand's success in an overt and covert way as well. Be it our online shopping experience, or experience in a store real time. Be it while using an application to order food or looking for the right restroom at the local brewery. Be it the ease of opening a packaging of a beauty product or the difficulty one experiences while opening that bottled juice, it is the way something has been designed that ensures a customers' return to the brand. UX is all about the usability of an application or user interface (UI) which can includes a vast array of things such as software design and development, branding, functionality, design, integration, and usability. Today it is not just about creating a usable products but the amount of joy and novelty a user experiences while using a product or service. The harsh truth is that a visitor takes almost 0.05 seconds to make their impression about a brand. And a large majority of researches point towards that fact that more than 46 percent people rely on website design while judging a company's credibility. In a scenario where brands have to compete strongly to gain a consumer's attention, the criticality of sound UI/UX design is second to none. The call for design expertise in terms of user experience is answered by a plethora of new age startups. These young enterprises are not just technically astute but also rely on cutting edge tech trends such as data analytics, AI, M etc to create the most attractive UX.
