Suresh, CEO, Domon's Custom MotorcycleAccording to Wikipedia, a cus-tom motorcycle is a motorcy-cle with stylistic and/or struc-tural changes to the 'standard' mass-produced machine of-fered by major manufacturers. This is a simple way of looking at the broad spectrum of what motorcycle customization really is. I am not going to talk about the craziness that goes on in the backyard garages of bikers out in the U.S who literally have a fully functional machine shop in their garages. When a person utter the word customi-zation or modification in India regarding motorcycles, the things that come to mind would be changing or altering the exhausts to make the bike sound louder, a K&N air filter to maybe give the bike a better sound, change the handlebar to either drag bars or small apes depending on the person who rides it, or maybe a change in color which would sometimes just mean pasting stickers on top of factory paint so that it looks differ-ent from the tens of thousands of bikes on the streets of India. It's hard to pin point any one thing that defines motorcycle customization, as for each person who owns a motorcycle, each have particular needs. What I said earlier about the views of most people in India on the subject would be considered as a very infinitesimally small part of what customization actually is. I quite frankly don't think anyone on the face of this planet can actually give a full holistic definition of customization; but what I can tell you are some facets that are considered while customizing a motorcycle. Fit: No two people are alike physically, except in the case of a set of identical twins, and even then there will be some very subtle differences
