One startup has a unique way of tracking assets and people, with their solution, hundreds or thousands of assets & people can be tracked in real time in a given workplace such as a shop floor, manufacturing unit or warehouse. Sensors are placed at the various locations within the premise form the fixed sensor nodes, Bluetooth tags are carried by a person or tagged to an asset form the moving sensor node. The fixed and moving sensor nodes together form a mesh network, which can track the assets and people in real time. The added advantage of this solution is creating a geofence. Here geofencing can be set to make sure that the assets do not enter or leave the assigned areas. In case the asset leaves or enters the restricted area, an immediate alert/notification will be send to the admin and they can take appropriate action. In this manner, the risk of asset been stolen or misplaced can be avoided. All these activities can be seen and can be controlled in real time on the dashboard. With various sensors embedded on one board, problems like pre-dictive maintenance, condition monitoring of a cold storage area, and server farms can also be solved. The nodes must be fully customisable by the user/admin from the cloud and one can either set thresholds and get alerts by multiple means if those are crossed, or setup user defined data streaming intervals. By doing so, the sensors together enable each nodes to perform multiple tasks based on the customer's choice.. End applications can also supports security monitoring for perim-eter wall or fence, temperature and humidity monitoring via preset thresholds by custom-ers with alerts via text/email if the threshold is crossed. With IoT systems in place, preventive maintenance is much more automated and streamlined. Systems can sense when problems are arising or machinery needs to be fixed, and can empower you to solve potential issues before they become bigger problems. Leveraging supply chain management capabilities, companies can deliver products and services to market faster, cheaper, and with better quality to gain an advantage over less-efficient competitors. Manufacturers can become more efficient with assets at each stage of the supply chain, allowing them to keep a better pulse on inventory, quality, and optimization opportunities relating to logistics. With IoT in place at a factory, employees can get better visibility into their assets worldwide. Standard asset management tasks such as asset transfers, disposals, reclassifications, and adjustments can be streamlined and managed centrally and in real time. Rahul Kednurkar
