With more than 400 companies including 200 startups, India has quickly emerged as a fintech products hub. In 2015, these ventures attracted US$420 million in funding, according to a report by the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM). By 2020, the transaction value for the Indian fintech sector is estimated to be approximately US$73 billion and the domestic fintech market is expected to grow 1.7x, making it worth US$8 billion.Evolution of startups is imperative for a successful fintech ecosystem. The flourishing effect of fintech startup has been catalyzed by an increasing demand for digital financial products by consumers, rampant rise of connected devices and support of venture capitalists. While startups are redesigning the financial services processes with their high end technological expertise, incumbent players are also following suit and investing heavily in creating new products of their own. The trend is increasingly shifting from startups seen majorly as disrupters to also being enablers of change. Hence, there is greater collaboration being seen and expected between different players of the ecosystem with the startups.
