siliconindia | | OCTOBER 20228HOLISTIC EDUCATION IS THE FUTURE OF TOMORROWBy Rajiv Bansal, Director-Operations, Global Indian International Schoolhe modern world is ever evolving and packs a challenge every step of the way. Times are changing and so is the need to keep up with it. We need to evolve to match its pace, or we will be left behind. To handle uncertainty, students will need to develop imagination, resilience, curiosity, and self-regulation; they must appreciate and respect ideas, perspectives, and values from others; they will also need to cope up with adversity to head forward. This is where Holistic Education comes as an answer to these pressing challenges. According to UNESCO's International Bureau of Education, "holistic learning approach seeks to fully activate all aspects of a learner's personality for more effective and comprehensive learning". In simple terms, holistic education not just focuses on teaching facts to children and making them memorize. It focuses on all aspects of the learner's personality. These experiences will inculcate curiosity and understanding, and most importantly involve them in the learning process. Holistic education provides dynamic educational framework aimed at fostering all round development of students through an integrated, holistic approach to learning. What the study argues is that the overall progress of the child depends on their social, emotional, intellectual and physical development.Social Development - Social development is the process through which children learn to build relationships. It involves learning the values, knowledge, and skills necessary to understand how to get along with others.Emotional Development - Emotional development means how children start to understand who they are, what they are feeling about any given situation. It is the development of being able to experience, manage and express emotions.Intellectual Development Intellectual Development means the growth of a child's ability to think and reason. It's about how well they organize their minds, ideas and thoughts to make sense of the world they live in.Physical Development - Physical development is the growth and development of both the brain and body in Rajiv Bansal, Director-OperationsIN MY OPINIONT
