While facing persistent challenges like low public spending and a significant rural-urban divide, the sector has made monumental progress in health outcomes and access. If we go in the past, the dream of universal health access began with the National Health Policy (NHP) of 1983, and it set an ambitious goal of `Health for All by 2000', focusing on primary healthcare that included prevention, promotion, and rehabilitation, all with community involvement. Then followed the `National Population Policy of 2000' specifically addressing vital areas like reproductive and child health. The `NHP 2002' built on these foundations, further strengthening primary healthcare, advocating for decentralized health services, and pushing for more public spending on health, while also trying to regulate our rapidly growing private sector. A major milestone during this time was the `National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in 2005', and we are still growing stronger, though gradually. However, innovation has truly been a cornerstone of India's healthcare evolution, and here we are celebrating a few recognized doctors from the wide spectrum of healthcare specializations focused of the critical health problems and body organs. This siliconindia edition, `Top 10 Prominent Doctors from Hyderabad 2025' spotlights some of the best doctors from the region celebrating them for their keen and dedicated services that were filled with compassionate care for the patients.Do read to know more about these healthcare doyens and share your developed insights!
