siliconindia | | December 20184It's over a year when GST was first introduced to India. Though the dust has settled-down, the reform's contribution to the growth of Indian economy is still being questioned by few. But thanks to some of the hard antibiotics (like GST) that Indian economy needed since long, today, the country's economy is picking-up fast with growth prospects looking bright. Currently, India is one of the fastest growing economies of the world, accounting to over 15 percent of global growth, and has helped to lift millions out of poverty. International Monetary Fund (IMF) believes that India will drive global growth for the coming three decades. It expects the economic growth to pick-up to about 7.3 percent for FY 2018-2019 and 7.5 percent in 2019-2020 on strengthening investment and robust private consumption. This can give much confidence to the India Inc., who are exploring all the uncharted territories to offer need-based products that are much localized in terms of taste, features and pain points they're meant to serve. Looking at the huge opportunity that India has thrown at them, these companies are spending huge in R&D to come-up with products/services that are of global level. And why not! With the Indian consumers gaining more spending muscles, and with their deeper connection with the digital and electronic worlds, consumers now want nothing less than the best. Topping it is the experience of the Gen X & Y entrepreneurs who are shaping the industry for better, while the Gen Z are sprinkling their creative ideas to offer something unique. While talking to several companies for our current edition of siliconindia Magazine's `Company of the Year - 2018', we realized that these companies are not just creating new technologies/products/services, but are committed to CSR activities that are deeply rooted within their work culture. It is good to see companies transforming for better and walking hand-in-hand to create a better world. More power to them!Do let us know what you think!
