siliconindia | | NOVEMBER 20224These days, B2B marketplaces are everywhere. The term `gig economy', which first appeared with Uber, has been bandied about for years, and it has given rise to thousands of businesses looking to profit from offering on-demand services via an app or cloud-based software.Generally speaking, a B2B marketplace connects providers and customers in a manner similar to an e-Commerce website. The providers, however, can be independent contractors or vendors who promote their products online. Convenience is a top priority for consumers in the modern economy, and B2B marketplaces provide a wide range of options from numerous suppliers on a single platform. Platforms that directly connect buyers and sellers have found a market thanks to the flexibility of having goods or services delivered directly to a client at any time. While many of these platforms would seem to focus solely on B2C, they actually give businesses--often small businesses--a opportunity to expand their customer base and sell their services in fresh ways. Some platforms, like merchant marketing software, only require businesses to accept vouchers at the register like gift cards, not change how they conduct their regular business. In order to execute services for customers on other platforms, such as on-demand wellness software, a company may need to develop a mobile service. The increased number of prospective clients and the opportunity to make an online service without developing an e-Commerce site are two benefits of using a B2B marketplace.By offering services on demand that are traditionally booked days or weeks in advance or by making it quicker and easier to reserve those services in advance, a B2B marketplace aims to improve the client experience. Small businesses can change their business models to accommodate clients who are making more and more online purchases by offering e-Commerce platforms for enterprises to advertise their services.Emmanuel Christi DasEditoreditor@siliconindia.comA Step Towards Reshaping the Future of Indirect Procurement "In a busy marketplace, not standing out is the same as being invisible". -- Seth Godin, AuthorEditorial Vol 10 · Issue 08 - 02 · NOVEMBER, 2022 Publisher Alok Chaturvedi Editor Emmanuel Christi Das Assistant Editor Heena Kousar Editorial Team Aveek Pal Chaudhuri Hima P M Avinash Barik GM - Sales & Marketing Rohit Kumar Advertising Managers Editorial queries editor@siliconindia.com To subscribe Visit https://www.siliconindia.com/subscribe/ or send email to subscription@siliconindia.com Magazine Price is Rs.150 per issue Printed and Published By Alok Chaturvedi on behalf of Silicon Media Technologies Pvt Ltd and Printed at Precision Fototype Services at Sri Sabari Shopping Complex, 24 Residency Road Bangalore-560025 and Published At No. 124, 2nd Floor, Surya Chambers, Old Airport Road, Murugeshpalya, Bangalore-560017.
