siliconindia | | November 20208CURRENT ADVANCE TECHNOLOGY ON STRUCTURAL MODELLINGBy Parveen Sharma, CEO, The BIM Engineersith the growing demand of new Infrastructure and the limited availability of the space, the buildings are growing vertically, and we are seeing more and more high-rise buildings. Structural sta-bility for the high-rise buildings has always been a concern and now with the new emerging technologies such as Building Information Mod-eling (BIM), also known as Virtual Construction, new Structural Stabil-ity Analysis Tools can simulate the `Buildings of the future'.What is high-rise: A Building is considered high-rise when it is high enough to have serious impact on evacuation OR a building which have impact of winds and the lateral forces (any building above 35m high is con-sidered at tall building).Wind Analysis, Stability Analy-sis, Seismic Effect, Dynamic Analy-sis, Management or planning or Me-chanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Fighting systems for these buildings, Planning for Evacuation, Solar Stud-ies, Shadow Analysis, Area calcula-tion, Load Bearing capacity Analysis or any other analysis is possible with BIM, basically every analysis require some sort of 3d model and 3d is the basis of any BIM. In BIM, Information is the most important part. Information can be categorised is several aspects. BIM can be implemented at the very ini-tial stage of the project i.e. Concept Parveen has written various Books, Papers, Articles and has spoken at various international events on `Advanced Technologies in Design and Construction Industry', He is an active member of national and international BIM forums and a regular speaker at Conferences and Seminars.in my opinionW
