Mostly we deal with sensitive data like type of disease,salary,age,bank-balance or location of army unit.For security reasons to maintain the confidence/secrecy of such data, instead of storing individual raw figures,we make a database of compiled statistics called a statistical database.The advantages of statistical databases are less storage space,less coding for compilation and easy availability of statistics.For more efficiency and better access,we can introduce the concept of orthogonality of relational databases to such statistical databases.
Further,we chemouflage these compiled data of statistical databases by several disclosure control methods available in the literature.The best one is my Fuzzy Data Distortion Technique(Computational Statistics and Data Analysis,1995) using Fuzzy Numbers.
