About us
First Pass Semiconductors is founded by VLSI professionals who have in-depth knowledge and experience of more than 17 years in the field of ASIC design. The First Pass technical team consists of 45+ engineers who have cumulative experience on 60+ ASIC tape outs, starting from 0.25um all the way to 32nm/28nm/22nm in TSMC, UMC, Chartered and IBM fabs . Founded in December, 2010, First Pass is currently providing services in Physical Design and Custom Layout for North America and India based Fab/fabless Semiconductor companies.

Founder and CEO
Srinivasa has been in VLSI industry for the last 17 years and he worked as GeneralManager for VLSI group (India) at Infotech Enterprises Ltd until end of 2010 before he co-founded First Pass Semiconductors. Kakumanu led/managed 50+ASIC tape outs targeted from 0.25um all the way to 40nm process nodes for TSMC, UMC, Chartered and IBM fabs. He started his career at HAL, Hyderabad and later worked at QualCore Logic Limited, TTM Inc., Iknaos, TTM India and Infotech Enterprises Ltd. He started as a Logic Design and Verification engineer andmoved into Synthesis/ Physical Design/Timing in the later part of his career thus having hands-on expertise on the full ASIC design cycle. He was in the U.S. between 2000-2007 while he worked at TTM Inc., and Ikanos Communications. Kakumanu, after moving back to India in 2007, headed TTM India Engineering and was instrumental in growing the team and played an important role in successful acquisition of TTM by Infotech Enterprises Ltd in Sept, 2008. He also trains students in Physical Design at Institute of Silicon Systems, one of the leading Physical Design training institutes in India located in Hyderabad. He is also known as "KS" in the VLSI industry.
