3: While exchange of value is undoubtedly a measure, we must never forget the driving force; which is human need to fulfill their intent in an expediant way.

I seldom do this but I am tempted to quote an original mandate found in a scripture: "People are meant to co-operate and help each other. By catering to their good (Godly) attributes and those atributes in turn catering to them, the two will progress"

It is very important that we see these ideas in the Indian context. Just wanting cheaper products is indeed a measurable driving force but that does not contribute to our becoming a better human being - that comes from our ability to put the needs of others ahead of our own.

As evidenced by the emphasis on customer needs, the idea of serving others has taken root as an important part of commercial success. The idea of value is shifting to consideration of others. This is good. Then again, we have to measure it with ... you gussed it; money !
