BANGALORE: With technology replacing almost everything existing in the world, it has clearly emerged as a winner. With this emerging trend and 4G technology improving the transfer speed of data, the recruitment process is getting a boost as well.

According to TimesJobs.com, software, sales and business development, hardware, operations and customer services, and engineering project management are the top five departments in the IT/telecom sector that are hiring professionals.
HR executives at telecom companies are increasingly using social media sites Facebook and Twitter, apart from professional networks such as LinkedIn, as reference points in the recruitment process. According to analysts, hiring through social media is expected to grow by more than 50 percent this year from 2013, reports Danish Khan of the TOI.
Employers are turning towards the social media for getting in touch with the right set of people as the benefits are much in doing so. With this process of hiring, employers have a great opportunity to interact well and on a broader perspective with the probable employees and get to know more about them.
Along with the benefit of knowing the person better with less cost and within the preferred time, the branding of the company also gets involved. "When companies hire through social media, it allows them to promote their employer's brand through this tool," says Shiv Agrawal, founder of HeadHonchos.com.
With this being the current trend and with a fact that it won’t fade away any time soon, probable candidates must make sure to update their social profiles and keep it in compliance with the needs of the employers of their field of profession.
