Indian-Origin CEOs Who Sway the World

Piyush Gupta, DBS Group: Piyush Gupta holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi University, and an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, India. He is the CEO and Director of DBS Group, as well as Director of DBS' subsidiary companies, The Islamic Bank of Asia Limited and DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited. He holds the post since November 9th 2009. DBS Group is a leading financial services group in Asia, with assets of approx $300 billion, and with over 250 branches across 16 markets. Prior joining DBS Group, he started his career with Citibank in India in 1982.



Sanjay Kumar Jha, Global Foundaries: A Bihar-born Indian, Sanjay Kr Jha holds a varied experience in various companies in his career. He rose to the position of Chief Executive Officer at Global Foundaries. He was appointed the same in January 2014. Jha has strong executive experience in the technology industry, recently as Chief Executive Officer of Motorola Mobility Holdings Incorporation and its subsidiaries. He started his career as lead design engineer roles with Brooktree Corporation in San Diego and GEC Hirst Research Centre in London. He holds a PhD in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Strathclyde University, Scotland and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from University of Liverpool, England.



Harish Manwani, Unilever: Harish Manwani is an honors graduate from Mumbai University and has a master's degree in management studies from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies. He also attended the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School. He held a stable career at Hinduatan Lever Limited, with joining it in 1976, and becoming a member of the HLL board. In 2000 he moved to UK as Senior Vice President, Global Hair Care and Oral Care. In 2002 he was appointed as President, Home and Personal Care, Latin America Business Group. In 2005 Harish Manwani joined the Unilever Executive as President, Asia Africa. He also holds a position of non-executive chairman of Hindustan Lever and is currently a member of the Executive Board of the Indian School of Business.
