He has started his own company: ILLUMINZ. He is now heading a team of about 30 (which is growing every month). Since the inception of ILLUMINZ it has been his focus to hire the best talent from all over India for any cost.

Company Profile

ILLUMINZ is a team of very smart designers & programmers. We build websites, web apps and iPhone/iPad apps from scratch. Founded in 2009, located in Mohali (Chandigarh),  we are working for clients globally. Each day, we are charged up to work upon some really exciting & exceptional projects, which would change the path for many. Culture at ILLUMINZ is full of competitive spirit, and we let our hair down sometimes. We have some Rockstars here, who are excellent in their work and are full of humor. We have many practical jokes running around the work place and it keeps the team spirit up! Above all we strive for excellence and bring up success to our clients, and hence us!

Most critical decision
Not a critical decision, however, once I got adamant with a tough client. He wanted things done in primitive way, and we are all about the best technologies & designs. You just can’t give clients what they want, as they have not seen the latest updates to our field. We launched the site with thoughtful design and programming (not using flash on web pages is the key), and it’s doing great for him. ‘Apology’ and ‘Thank you’ notes are with us!
Doing things differently
I would collect a lot of capital first .Well, that’s what every start-up needs. There are many times in the history, some really good innovative companies have gone down the drain, as they were overtook by large companies. Many times some talented group of people build a very nice product, a product which can change how we perceive things, but with limited capital in hand, they can’t take the product further and it dies, because product’s new father may have many things to care about.
Motivating Employees
Letting them have their say on projects is the key part. Discussion is most important for any group, we are not just robots working all day and looking for weekends to relax. We enjoy each day.
We organize Quiz every month, play in-house games daily and take some adventurous trips to the hills nearby mostly.
Making Right Decisions
I think mistakes happen sometimes, as much as you try to avoid them. Rectifying the mistakes quickly is what we should look for. I, as a leader make sure that there’s good amount of sales, that the project managers are handling clients well, that people are proving themselves upto the grassroot level. I give a lot of attention to the details in whatever I do.
Advice for young entrepreneurs
The way you accomplish anything significant is with a team. Manage the top line and the bottom line would follow. Seniors in the company have to be excellent.
