Short Description

Have an aim, means will follow. I believe in that. Do the right things, dots will get connected themselves.

Brief about company, offerings and foundation of the company

Digital Ideaz first came into existence by the name Quasar Technologies by Ritesh Saxena (an Electronics Engineer). It was the year 1998. City: Mumbai, India. In the year 2007, the name of the firm was changed to Digital Ideaz and the location from Mumbai, to Chandigarh. The business grew well and in 2010 the company got its Corporate Identity as DIPL (Digital Ideaz Private Limited).DIPL offers following services: Complete Internet Presence Package. Right from Domain Booking, Website Hosting, Website Designing, Website Development, Software Development & Search Engine Optimization (Internet marketing).

Some of the difficulties faced while building product/ solution

Mumbai was a bit too expensive to setup an infrastructure for the services I wanted to provide. To maintain the quality at the reasonable price I had to shift to Chandigarh as I found Chandigarh to be a better option.

Risks involved in business and way of addressing

There are many factors involved in developing a website. Hosting, Design, functionality etc. DIPL is accountable for this & can also explain these to its clients. Proper up gradation of latest technologies & knowledge is important.I often suggest to people that having a website is not so risky. NOT having a website is more risky. It puts you and your business at a disadvantage.

Three big lessons/ mistakes encountered while building company

Lessons: 1. Make achievable commitments 2. Timely Execute the commitments & 3. Adhere to the company policies.

Best company I admire globally

Silicon House, I appreciate their competitiveness.

Most critical decision

I remember myself going through a financial crunch and desired work badly. Without thinking much about the technical feasibility of the project I agreed to do it for a client. The result was that I had to work continuously for about 72 hours to get a solution. I slept only after providing the solution. But it also made me learn what to commit and what not to commit!

Different actions if I rebuild my company from scratch all over again

Nothing! I would like to grow again the way I grew. Committing mistakes is normal.

Motivation and Drives factor
Honesty, serenity and a glass of quality wine.
The challenges and lessons learnt to get first customer

My first customer was a renowned film personality of India. I use to teach him computer. Once while teaching him we came up with idea of launching a personal website for him. The only challenge that I faced was when I was supposed to collect my payment. It was my first professional payment and it was raining cats and dogs in Mumbai that day. I had to literally swim through knee deep waters to collect my first payment. LOL.

Unique about my way of motivating troops

Friendliness! I make them feel secured financially as well as for the future. I believe a quiet mind can think wisely and can do wonders.

Way of choosing my people

I prefer nurturing my people. Majority of the people I believe are talented. The only difficult part for any company is to extract that talent and use it in a constructive manner so that it is mutually beneficial.

My thoughts related to entrepreneurship/ leadership and management

If you want to make your dreams come true, wake up!

Experience of reaching out to potential investors
Initially a little difficult I would say. With no patron around, the most difficult aspect was to gain their trust. Once I developed the trust through various thick and thins, hard work and honesty, it was not much difficult. It is a time consuming process but fruitful.
My role at different dimensions as the company evolved

Interesting! In 1998, I dropped my marketing job, which I did for two years in the web designing field and took a decision of opening this sole proprietorship firm. It was rather a one-man-band. Right from marketing to technical to day to day work, I had to do it all alone. Interestingly I met many like-minded enthusiasts (helpful souls) who volunteered me in achieving my goals.Later when the firm got more organized and grew in terms of number of people, I felt proper management was also of equal importance as the technical know-how. Since then I am more into the administrative and business development aspect.

As a leader how I make sure that I am connecting the right dots

Have an aim, means will follow. I believe in that. Do the right things, dots will get connected themselves.
