Ford EcoSport: The latest addition to the compact SUV segment is the sporty looking Ecosport from the Ford stable. The urban SUV, which is prized very aggressively under the 10 lakh mark managed to bag record bookings of 30,000 in just 17 days from its launch. And, since then the Ecosport has beefed up Fords sales with long waiting periods.

With standard safety features including ESP, traction control, ABS and six airbags, the sub-four metre compact crossover is available with two petrol engines and one diesel mill. The award winning Ecoboost engine comes with a 1.5-litre engine that churns out 123PS and 170Nm of torque. The diesel engine comes with a 1.5-litre oil burner that produces 89PS and 204 Nm of torque and has been sourced from the Fiesta sedan. To add on to that the Ecosport has a Microsoft-developed SYNC tech, which will not only make and receive calls, but also play music or have your text messages read out to you.
