iGate appoints Sekar as Global HR Head

BANGALORE: iGate Global Solutions Ltd has announced the appointment of UVG Sekar as Sr.Vice President and Global Head of Human Resources.
UVG Sekar joins the Company from IBM Global Services where he was a key member of the Indian human resources leadership.
Commenting on Sekar's appointment, Phaneesh Murthy, CEO, of the Company said, "The HR challenges in an ITOPS company are quite significant and we wanted to reach out and get a person who has the experience and expertise to address these challenges."
As Global Head of Human Resources, Sekar will be responsible for overseeing the Company's Human Resources strategy and shaping its people policies to enable high growth and performance. Sekar brings with him over 25 years of experience in IT HR and has held senior positions in India and abroad across companies such as TCS, Wipro, Digital, AT&T, Tektronix and Professional Access.
On his decision to join the Company, UVG Sekar said, "iGate's business of Integrating technology and operations has the potential to bring a transformational change in an industry that has conventionally operated on a labour arbitrage model and will challenge the basic assumptions of HR as we know it today.
