BANGALORE: Online content delivery and business processes company, Akamai Technologies, which recently announced its merger with former business rival Speedera Technologies, is looking to leverage on the latter's Indian presence for software development and building business in the country. Paul Sagan, CEO and President, Akamai, said that the company is in the process of integrating the India operations of the Bangalore subsidiary of Speedera Networks, Inc., which Akamai acquired in a stock-for-stock transaction estimated to have cost $130 million. “We have 56 employees in India which is the third largest office for Akamai world wide. We see India playing a key role in the emerging global demand economy,” said Sagan. Following the integration, the combined entity would come under a single unified brand, he informed. Sagan informed that the acquisition was made both for acquiring Speedera's technology capabilities as well as for its good customer base.
