@ Road opens new facility in Chennai

CHENNAI: @Road, Inc, global software service providers, announced an expansion programme in Chennai. Inaugurating the 40,000 sq feet facilities in Chennai' s ELNET Software City, Krish Panu, President and CEO of @Road, said, "We realized the potential of Chennai as an excellent location to base our Asian operations five years ago. Since then, our Chennai team has been instrumental in developing key software and service platforms that enable the company to be a vendor of choice in providing mobile resource management (MRM) solutions to leading enterprises in telecommunications, utilities, facilities management, transportation and other vertical markets." Inaugurated by Richard Haynes, Consul General, U S Consulate, Chennai, and Vivek Harinarain, Secretary to the Government, Information Technology Department, the company’s current headcount has grown to 160 people during its five years of operation in Chennai and is presently planning to expand the number to 400 in the near future. While Panu pointed out that though the company was investing close to Rs 30 crore in this location, sudden cropping up of IT firms in the southern most country of India, is indicating Tamil Nadu as the next preferred destination for the IT industry.
