BANGALORE: California-based Yahoo Inc is coming up with yet another new service-Photo Mail. Users can insert up to 300 digital photographs using PhotoMail, into an e-mail. The new service also permits storage of an unlimited numbers of photos on the Web and media company's computers. PhotoMail will allow users to perform editing operations on the photos. Most Web-based services require users to send photos as attachments. In most cases there is a limit on how much of data can be transferred in such attachments. Figures from ComScore MediaMetrix for April 2005 show that Yahoo has around 64 million unique monthly users. Time Warner follows with 49 million users and Microsoft's Hotmail with 43 million users. PhotoMail is the first such service to integrate and simplify its e-mail offering. Images in PhotoMail e-mail are thumbnails. Users can also view the larger picture by just clicking on the image. "Photo sharing is enormously popular and thought by many to be too complicated," said Andy Splane, vice president of Yahoo mail in an interview.
